Paro Taktsang is a sacred Vajrayana Buddhist site located in the cliffside of the upper Paro valley in Bhutan. It is one of the thirteen Tiger’s Nest caves where Guru Padmasambhava, the founder of Buddhism in Bhutan, meditated and taught in the 8th century. The monastery complex, built in 1692, is an elegant structure that blends with the natural rock face. The site is a cultural icon of Bhutan and a popular tourist attraction.

Visitors can hike to the monastery, passing through a pine forest, a bridge over a waterfall, and a steep staircase. The hike offers spectacular views of the valley and the mountains.
